Andrew Townsend was appointed as inspecting architect in 2010 and has completed quinquennial condition surveys, overseen the conservation of masonry to the north porch and on the south side of the abbey as well as having assisted with the re-lighting of the interior. Current works include developing proposals to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the abbey's consecration.
